we are all monsters deep down inside.

Her reflection in the mirror was more than her tears strolling down her cheeks. It was fear of being locked up. The cage was no more but a mere bed, candles books and a luminescent blue ball. The Monster was in love with her. Her beauty was unexplainable. Her eyes gleamed blue light that would laugh and dance when you laid your eyes upon hers. Her smile could warm up a freezing cold room in seconds. Made your insides bubble in excitement and joy. It made the Monster feel like he was not a monster but a human with feelings. Those tickled pink cheeks made her look delicate almost fragile like a china doll. Her long red hair had curls evenly symmetrical. They were smooth and shiny; you could weave pure silk from it. She was the sun in the day and the moon in the evening. You simply couldn't live without her. The Monster had to have her. He trapped her. Took her wings and placed them in the luminescent blue ball. Her freedom was gone. She was trapped and everyday all she did was stare at the ball that secured her freedom away from her. To her the Monster was the devil of the earth. He was grotesque, unbearable to look at. He had scaly skin. Half his face was burnt. The flesh that grew over it had boils and white puffy skin. His eyes dark as coal. Afraid to look in them, it might suck away life. A smile that has been broken for years. And a soul that did not live anymore. He had no freedom from his own body. So he took away hers. Now he has all they beauty in the world right in the palm of his hands. That made him free...
